Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Ross Wiseman, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Terrenceville - Yellow Cove ATV Trail (Reg. 1560)
Proponent: Scott Lavhey

The proponent proposes the construction of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) trail to access remote cabins at Yellow Cove, near Terrenceville on the Burin Peninsula. The trail will be located between Big Diver Pond, near Terrenceville and Yellow Cove and will be approximately 9.5 kilometres in length and a maximum of four metres wide. Construction of the trail is to include manual labour and use of an excavator and is expected start in the summer upon receipt of required permits.

The undertaking was registered on February 24, 2011; the deadline for public comments is April 1, 2011; and the minister’s decision is due by April 9, 2011.
