Environmental Assessment Bulletin
The Honourable Ross Wiseman, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.
UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:
North Atlantic Zip Line – Petty Harbour (Reg. 1555)
Proponent: Robert Carter
The proponent intends to develop an adventure tourism facility to be located in Petty Harbour. The zip line course consists of a series of elevated walking bridges and wooden landing pads linked by steel cables. The course will include nine launch pads, several elevated walking bridges and seven steel zip lines that extend along the west side of First Pond and terminate just west of Crocker’s Bridge. The project is scheduled to commence with construction in the spring or summer of 2011.
The undertaking was registered on January 28, 2011; the deadline for
public comments is March 4, 2011; and the minister’s decision is due by
March 13, 2011.
