Corner Brook School to Receive Electrical Upgrades

As part of the Provincial Government's ongoing investment in improving K-12 school infrastructure, a $90,776 tender has been awarded to Integral Energy Services to provide electrical upgrades to St. Gerard’s Elementary in Corner Brook.

“Our government is committed to maintaining our educational infrastructure throughout Newfoundland and Labrador,” said the Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Education. “New emergency lighting and fire alarm systems will be installed at St. Gerard’s, in addition to other electrical upgrades, ensuring the school continues to be a safe and comfortable learning atmosphere.”

The upgrades are expected to be completed by the end of March 2012.

“I am very pleased with this investment in upgrades to St. Gerard’s School,” said the Honourable Tom Marshall, Minister of Finance and MHA for Humber East. “The improvements will ensure that students, teachers and staff at St. Gerard’s have a safe and healthy environment in which to learn and work.”

Budget 2011 Standing Strong: For Prosperity. For Our Future. For Newfoundland and Labrador, includes $94.5 million for new and ongoing K-12 infrastructure projects, including $34.3 million for repairs and maintenance.
