Media Advisory: Labrador Straits Academy to Mark Official Opening

The Honourable Joan Burke, Minister of Education, will be in L’anse au Loup tomorrow (Thursday, September 8) to help celebrate the grand opening of Labrador Straits Academy. Minister Burke will be joined by the Honourable John Hickey, Minister of Labrador Affairs. The event will take place at the school at 1:00 p.m.

Labrador Straits Academy, a K-12 school designed for 230 students, first opened December 2010. Thursday’s event marks the official opening of the school, which will also be attended by representatives of the Western School Board, the Western School District and the entire school community.
