Auditor General Releases his Annual Report to the House of Assembly
for the Year Ended 31 March 2010

John L. Noseworthy, CA, Auditor General, today presented his 2010 Annual Report to the Speaker of the House of Assembly.

The Report contains approximately 530 pages and includes commentary, recommendations and auditees’ comments related to the review of Government departments and Crown agencies in the following areas:

• Re-employment of Pensioners
• Protective Intervention Program – Long-Term Protection
• Nova Central School District – Monitoring of Financial Operations
• Contaminated Sites
• Gasoline Tax
• Fisheries Compliance and Enforcement
• Real Estate Regulation
• Residential Tenancies
• Diabetes in Newfoundland and Labrador
• Road Ambulance Services
• Review of Broadband within Government
• Investments
• Support Enforcement Program
• Forestry Management
• Vehicle Fleet Management

The Report also contains a summary of conclusions and commentary on the status of the implementation of past recommendations made to Government departments and Crown agencies in Annual Reports from 2004 to 2008.

As with prior reports to the House of Assembly, the Auditor General will be available to the media on an appointment basis.
