Auditor General to Release Report to the House of Assembly on the Audit of
the Financial Statements of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador for
the Year Ended 31 March 2010

John L. Noseworthy, CA, Auditor General, today announced that he plans to present his Report to the House of Assembly on the Audit of the Financial Statements of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador for the Year Ended 31 March 2010 to the Speaker of the House of Assembly on Friday, January 21.

The Report provides details on a number of concerns the Auditor General has regarding the Province’s current financial condition and includes comments on Government’s compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and adherence to principles of sound financial accountability.

As with prior reports to the House of Assembly on the Audit of the Financial Statements of the Province, the Auditor General will be available to the media on an appointment basis, after the report has been presented to the Speaker of the House of Assembly.
