Public Advisory: TCH Closed between Gambo and Gander

The Department of Transportation and Works advises the public that the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) is closed between Gambo and Gander due to a washout at Joey's Lookout near Gambo. Traffic is being re-routed around this section of Highway via Routes 320 and 330 (The Gander Bay Loop). Residents of Benton and other local traffic will be allowed access to their homes and businesses via the Gander end of the TCH closure.

The TCH is now open between the Route 230 interchange and Port Blandford.

The TCH remains closed through Terra Nova National Park while repairs are ongoing. Parks Canada has advised that they expect to have restored the flow of traffic through the park by approximately 4 p.m. today (Thursday, September 23).
