Media Advisory: Minister to View Progress of New Ferry
Construction
The Honourable Tom Hedderson, Minister of Transportation and Works,
will visit Kiewit Offshore Services, Cow Head Facility to view the
progress of construction of two new medium-size vessels for the
provincial ferry fleet today (Wednesday, September 15). Minister
Hedderson will be joined by the Honourable Clyde Jackman, MHA for
Burin-Placentia West; the Honourable Darin King, MHA for Grand Bank;
and, Calvin Peach, MHA for Bellevue.
Minister Hedderson will be available to the media at 3:00 p.m.
Members of the media wishing to attend are asked to confirm their
attendance with Roger Scaplen by 10:00 a.m. today. Members of the media
are also advised that safety equipment including hard hats, safety
footwear, glasses, vests and gloves will be required at this site as it
is an active construction zone. Long-sleeve shirts and long pants must
also be worn.
