Tilting Playground Receives $15,000
Boost
The Town of Tilting will get some new
playground equipment, with the help of a $15,000 grant from the
Provincial Governments 2010 Capital Grant Program.
"This funding will be used to assist
with equipment purchase and upgrades to the playground," said
the Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and
Recreation. "As a government, we are pleased to support the
efforts of local communities who work hard to provide the means
by which our young people can be more physically active."
Tilting is among more than 40
municipalities, recreation commissions, and community-based
organizations throughout the province which have received
funding to upgrade their recreation and sport infrastructure
through these latest Capital Grant Program investments.
"These playground upgrades and new
equipment are great news for the young people of the Town of
Tilting," said The Isles of Notre Dame MHA Derrick Dalley.
"Participation in recreation and sport is an integral part of a
healthy lifestyle, and if we instill this notion in our youth at
an early age, it will hopefully stay with them into adulthood."
