$15,000 Grant Assists with Hillview
Playground Development
The Hillview Academy Playground is
getting a facelift, thanks in part to $15,000 provided through
the Provincial Governments 2010 Capital Grant Program.
"The playground committee has already
successfully fundraised to clear the recreational site and
prepare it for development," said the Honourable Terry French,
Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. "This funding will
now assist with the purchase of asphalt for the basketball
court, development of the games area, playground equipment,
fencing, and landscaping."
The Hillview Academy Playground
Committee is among more than 40 community-based organizations,
municipalities and recreation commissions which have received
funding to upgrade their recreation and sport infrastructure
through these latest Capital Grant Program investments.
"I am very pleased to join with
Minister French in recognition of the great work already done by
the playground committee of Hillview Academy," said Lewisporte
MHA Wade Verge. "This funding will allow committee chair Fred
Budgell and his group to make significant strides toward
completion of this great project."
