to be Installed in Meadows
The community playground located at Templeton Academy in
Meadows will be getting some new equipment with the assistance
of a $15,000 grant provided through the Provincial Governments
2010 Capital Grant Program.
"The playground will be used both during and after school
hours, providing young people with an opportunity to become more
physically active in a safe environment," said the Honourable
Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. "The
Provincial Government is pleased to support community-based
organizations in their efforts to encourage citizens of all ages
to get out, get active, and adopt more healthy lifestyles."
The Templeton Academy playground revitalization is among more
than 40 recreational infrastructure projects which have received
funding through the latest Capital Grant Program investments.
"I am pleased with this funding for the rejuvenation of the
community playground, and acknowledge the volunteers involved
for their efforts in overseeing this project," said Bay of
Islands MHA Terry Loder. "These upgrades will serve the students
attending Templeton Academy and, in fact, provide enjoyment for
all children on the North Shore."
