New Recreation Infrastructure for Bishops
Falls
The Town of Bishops Falls has a new playground and day park
recreation area, thanks in part to a $15,000 investment provided
through the Provincial Governments 2010 Capital Grant Program.
"This funding was utilized to upgrade existing playground
equipment, as well as to help the town build a new playground
and recreation area as part of its partnership with the national
Let Them be Kids organization," said the Honourable Terry
French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. "The
Provincial Government is pleased to support towns in their
efforts to find innovative ways to fund recreational
infrastructure projects which support the well-being of
residents."
The Town of Bishops Falls is among more than 40
municipalities, recreation commissions, and community-based
organizations throughout the province which have received
funding to upgrade their recreation and sport infrastructure
through these latest Capital Grant Program investments.
"It is really important to the people of Bishops Falls that
they have a safe and pleasant place to gather, exercise, and
have fun with family and friends," said Exploits MHA Clayton
Forsey. "We really appreciate this funding from the department
to help us improve our playground and recreation area."
