Middle Arm Recreation Building, Outdoor Rink
to Receive $15,000 in Improvements Through Infrastructure Grant

The Middle Arm Recreation Committee has been provided $15,000 to undertake upgrades to the town's recreation building and outdoor community rink through the Provincial Government's 2010 Capital Grant Program.

"The funding will be used to assist with the extension of the recreation building to allow for increased access to exercise programming, and the installation of fencing around the community outdoor rink," said the Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. "The Provincial Government is pleased to support community-based organizations in their efforts to ensure recreation facilities can continue to meet the needs of citizens and encourage them to adopt more active, healthy lifestyles."

The Middle Arm Recreation Committee is among more than 40 recreation commissions, municipalities, and community-based organizations throughout the province which have received funding to upgrade their recreation and sport infrastructure through these latest Capital Grant Program investments.

"The Town of Middle Arm has been working hard to promote healthy, active living and I want to commend them for their work," said Baie Verte Springdale MHA Kevin Pollard. "This funding will allow them to make improvements to the recreational facilities in the community and hopefully encourage more people to get out there and become more physically active."
