Tamarack Golf Club Gets
$15,000 Boost
The Tamarack Golf Club in Labrador City
will improve its facilities with the help of a $15,000 grant provided
through the Provincial Governments 2010 Capital Grant Program.
This funding will be used to assist with
upgrades to the clubs general purpose building and its locker/storage
facilities, said the Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism,
Culture and Recreation. As the only golf club in Labrador West,
Tamarack provides residents and visitors alike with the opportunity to
get physically active, while also providing emerging talent with a place
to develop their competitive skills.
The Tamarack Golf Club is among more than
40 community-based organizations, municipalities and recreation
committees throughout the province which have received funding to
upgrade their recreation and sport infrastructure through these latest
Capital Grant Program investments.
I am very pleased that government is
providing this grant to the Tamarack Golf Club to help upgrade its
facilities, said Labrador West MHA Jim Baker. This community-based,
not-for-profit organization provides for, and promotes, an active
lifestyle for the residents of Labrador West ranging from our young
people to our senior citizens.
