November 25, 2010Community Centre in Lushes
Bight-Beaumont to be Repaired
The Community Centre in the Town of Lushes Bight-Beaumont is getting
a facelift, thanks in part to a $15,000 investment provided through the
Provincial Government's 2010 Capital Grant Program.
"This investment will help replace the roof and upgrade the basement
walls and insulation in the centre," said the Honourable Terry French,
Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. "Community facilities such
as this are critical to providing a safe and comfortable environment in
which residents can enjoy the benefits of physical and social activities
which contribute to their overall well-being."
The Town of Lushes Bight-Beaumont is among more than 40
municipalities, recreation commissions, and community-based
organizations throughout the province which have received funding to
upgrade their recreation and sport infrastructure through these latest
Capital Grant Program investments.
"This is much welcomed news for the Town of Lushes Bight-Beaumont and
its residents," said Grand Falls-Windsor Green Bay South MHA Ray
Hunter. "These upgrades will allow continued usage and enjoyment of this
facility for many more years to come."
