Sequel to Summer Love
Campaign Launched Province-wide
The fall of the year has arrived and
vacation packages promoting Autumn Bliss — the province's latest installment in the For the Love of NL campaign — are now available
online at www.fortheloveofnl.ca.
Residents will also receive a copy of Autumn Bliss in their mailboxes,
which includes packages from 34 tourism operators throughout the
province.
"Autumn Bliss builds on the success of
our Summer Love promotion, encouraging Newfoundlanders and Labradorians
to get out and see the beautiful, natural and historical cultural
attractions available right here at home this fall," said the Honourable
Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. "There are
many exciting events and destinations awaiting your arrival — musical
and theatrical productions, hiking, heritage sites, golf getaways and
much more — not to mention the breath taking fresh air and natural
beauty of our province."
In 2007, the Government of Newfoundland
and Labrador launched its first season extension campaign to promote
fall experiences and packages. The marketing program is meant to connect
the potential visitor, both resident and non-resident, directly with
tourism operators.
Since 2003, the Provincial Government has
more than doubled its investment in tourism marketing, from $6 million
to $13 million. In 2009, the total resident and non-resident tourism
industry contributed about $850 million to the Newfoundland and Labrador
economy, an increase of almost $60 million for the year before.
