Provincial Basketball Teams Go 2-1 at
Nationals
The Provincial Midget (U15) Girls team defeated Prince
Edward Island 61-48 to go 1-0 at the National Championships in Toronto,
Ontario. Hannah Jardine and Sydney Ezekiel each chipped in with 15
points to lead the Newfoundland and Labrador team. The team faces
Manitoba later today.
The U17 Girls program was defeated 79-43 by a strong
New Brunswick team. Monica Lee was tops for Newfoundland and Labrador
with 10 points. Next up for the Juvenile team is Manitoba later today.
The U15 Boys Team defeated Prince Edward Island 117-62
in Winnipeg, Manitoba last night. Sam Prowse and Daniel Foo each had 25
points for the Newfoundland and Labrador team. The team will face
Saskatchewan later today. The U17 Boys team will play their first game
later today against Ontario.
