Laughs All Around: Province Supports Annual Comedy Festival

Following a week of successful workshops and performances, St. John's Comedy Festival Inc. will host the gala finale of its 4th annual Newfoundland Screech Comedy Festival on Sunday, June 13, at Mile One Centre.

"The Provincial Government is pleased to have provided $15,000 to offset the cost of presenting this festival through the Cultural Economic Development Program," said the Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. "It is important that we support a wide variety of creative initiatives, and this comedy festival continues to provide great performance and professional development opportunities for local comedians."

The CEDP is a $2.8 million program which supports arts, cultural and heritage initiatives throughout the province. CEDP projects are selected on the basis of business plans, vision and potential for development within a specific sector.
