Canada Games Hopefuls from Three Provinces Meet to Train in St. John's

This weekend 18 shooters and seven coaches, including former Olympic team shooting coach Bob Kierstead, will gather at the Frank Zahn High Performance Marksmanship and CSCA Training Centre for a high performance marksmanship training camp. This quadrennial cycle has seen increased collaborative efforts among the Atlantic Provinces as they prepare for the Canada Winter Games in Halifax, February of next year.

Athletes will learn and refine mental, physical and technical skills, along with nutritional and tactical knowledge designed to make them more competitive with the other provinces. This camp is being supported by the Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic, the Provincial Training Centre and the Newfoundland and Labrador Shooting Association.

Shooters will be training from skills from Friday evening to Monday morning, with several short competition drills including Liga competitions and finals.
