The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Sixty Teams to Compete in Provincial Minor Basketball Championships

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association's U15 boys and girls provincial championships are scheduled for this weekend, April 30-May 2.

A total of 60 teams will take part in events scheduled for St. John Bosco in St. John's, Holy Trinity in Torbay, St. Catherine's in Mt. Carmel, Baltimore High in Ferryland, Tricentia Academy in Arnold's Cove, Clarenville High, GC Rowe and Corner Brook High in Corner Brook and Mealy Mountain in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador.

Play gets under way on Friday afternoon and will conclude with the championship games Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon.
