Public Advisory: Prescribed Burn to be
Conducted at Lynx Pond
The Department of Natural Resources advises
that it will conduct a 60 -hectare
prescribed burn today (Tuesday, November 16) at Lynx Pond. The site is
located on a forest access road on the north side of the Trans Canada
Highway approximately three kilometres northwest of Birchy Narrows in
Forest Management District Nine.
The prescribed burn is part of
a silviculture management activity to prepare the site for planting and
to eliminate the threat of adelgid, a naturally -occurring
forest pest which limits tree growth.
If weather and wind conditions are not
favourable on Tuesday, the burn will proceed as soon as conditions
permit.
