Media Advisory: Minister to Address Women in Mining Forum

As part of Mining Week, the Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Minister of Natural Resources and Minister Responsible for the Status of Women, will attend a Women in Mining forum tomorrow (Tuesday, November 2) at 11:00 a.m. in the Celestial Gallery at the Johnson GEO CENTRE, 175 Signal Hill Road, in St. John's.

The panelists are Danielle Gignac, Human Resources Specialist, H.J. O'Connell Construction Limited; Faye Pittman, Chief Engineer — Plant Engineering and Plant Superintendent, the Iron Ore Company of Canada; Jody Krats, Boiler Operator, Wabush Mines; Melanie Bugden, Underground Geologist, Duck Pond Operations, Teck Resources Limited, and Stephanie Maloney, Project Geologist, Rambler Metals and Mining Limited.

The forum will educate young women about the career opportunities available within the province's mining industry and a networking luncheon will follow. Admission is free.
