Public Advisory: Spring Thaw Closes Forest Access Roads

The Department of Natural Resources is advising forest access road users in Central Newfoundland that the Seal Bay access road off the Robert's Arm Highway and the Bob's Head access road, east of Springdale, will be closed on Monday, April 12, until further notice. The Bob's Head access road will be closed from Mountain Pond to the end of the access road.

The closures are to avoid damage during the spring breakup. The spring thaw is known to easily damage resource roads and has the potential to affect future forest operations. The roads will be closed to all traffic, except all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles. The roads will reopen once conditions improve.

For information, call the Forest Management Office in Springdale at 709-673-3821.
