Public Advisory: Public Consultation Dates for
Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act Review Announced

The Commissioner for the Statutory Review of the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act will hold public consultation sessions at the following locations and times:

Wednesday, May 12 Happy Valley-Goose Bay Labrador Friendship Centre 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 13 Labrador City Two Seasons Inn 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Tuesday, May 18 Corner Brook Greenwood Inn and Suites 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Wednesday, May 19 Stephenville Holiday Inn 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Monday, May 31 Gander Hotel Gander 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Tuesday, June 1 Grand Falls-Windsor Mount Peyton Hotel 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Proclaimed in January 2005, the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act mandates in section 74 that a review of the legislation be commenced within five years. Further information on the statutory review process can be obtained at www.justice.gov.nl.ca.

Parties interested in making a submission are encouraged to contact the Office of the ATIPP Co-ordinator for further information or to register to make a public submission at 709-729-7072. As well, written submissions can be made prior to June 30, 2010 to jcummings@gov.nl.ca or to the Office of the ATIPP Coordinator, Department of Justice, P.O. Box 8700, St. John's, NL, A1B 4J6.
