Minister to Attend International Conference
The Honourable Shawn Skinner, Minister of
Innovation, Trade and Rural Development, is attending the Nordic
Atlantic Cooperation (NORA) Conference and Project Development Seminars
in Reykjavik, Iceland, on May 17-18. As part of the conference, Minister
Skinner will speak on Tuesday, May 18, on the value of increased
cooperation and collaboration of northern jurisdictions as a means of
stimulating economic development. The conference will take place at the
Hilton Reykjavik Nordica Hotel.
NORA is a regional committee under the
Nordic Council of Ministers' regional political program and functions as
an intergovernmental collaborative agency and facilitator. It is
financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers and its work is supported by
funding from the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, and the west coast
of Norway.
The organization is committed to
identifying and facilitating transatlantic cooperation. As part of its
work, it is targeting greater collaboration with its neighbours to the
west including Newfoundland and Labrador, Nunavut, and Nova Scotia.
