Media Advisory: Minister to Help Launch Oil and Gas Week 2010

The Honourable Shawn Skinner, Minister of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development, on behalf of the Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Acting Premier and Minister of Natural Resources, will speak at the launch of Oil and Gas Week 2010, on Monday, February 22.

The event will take place at 11:30 a.m. in Hampton Hall, Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University, in St. John's.

Oil and Gas Week 2010 (February 22-27) profiles the dynamic oil and gas industry in Newfoundland and Labrador and showcases the significance of the industry on the province's economy. The week features a wide variety of promotional and educational activities with a particular focus on educating secondary and post-secondary students about the industry, as well as providing information on potential career opportunities for future generations.
