Media Advisory: Transition House to Officially Open in Carbonear

The Honourable Jerome Kennedy, Minister of Health and Community Services and MHA for Carbonear-Harbour Grace, will officially open O'Shaughnessy House, a transition house in Carbonear offering safe refuge to women and children escaping violence. The event will take place tomorrow (Friday, September 24) at 1:00 p.m. at 1 St. Clare Avenue, Carbonear.

Minister Kennedy will be joined by Mary Dwyer, Chair, Board of Directors, Iris Kirby House; Gail Tobin, Executive Director, Iris Kirby House; Sister Sharon Fagan, Congregation Leader, Presentation Congregation; and, Morley Linstead, Manager, Home Assistance Program, Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation.
