Premier Joined by Research Representatives for Fisheries Science
Announcement
The Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland
and Labrador, will make an important announcement regarding the future
of fisheries science in the province. Joining the Premier will be the
Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture; Dr.
Gary Kachanoski, President and Vice-chancellor of Memorial University;
Glenn Blackwood, Executive Director of the Fisheries and Marine
Institute; Glenn Janes, Chief Executive Officer of the Research &
Development Corporation; Robert Verge, Managing Director of the Canadian
Centre for Fisheries Innovation; and, Dr. George Rose of the Marine
Institute.
The announcement will take place today (Friday, July 2) at the Fisheries
and Marine Institute, Hampton Hall, at 11:00 a.m.
