Advisory: Ministers to Launch Provincial Purple Ribbon Campaign
to Prevent Violence Against Women
The Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Minister Responsible
for the Status of Women and lead Minister for the Violence Prevention
Initiative, and the Honourable Darin King, Minister of Education, will
host the launch event for the Purple Ribbon Campaign for Newfoundland
and Labrador. Other ministers involved with the Violence Prevention
Initiative will also be in attendance.
The event will be held tomorrow (Wednesday, November
24) at 11:00 a.m. in the lobby of the Confederation Building, East
Block.
The Purple Ribbon Campaign promotes the prevention and
elimination of violence against women. As part of the campaign, numerous
activities will take place across the province.
