Media Advisory: Media Lock-In for Special Announcement by Premier Williams

There will be a lock-in for media representatives pertaining to a special announcement that will be made by the Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, tomorrow (Thursday, November 18). The lock-in will take place at the Sheraton Hotel (Avalon Room), St. John's.

During this lock-in, media will be provided with a technical briefing, followed by a media availability with Premier Williams and other officials.

The agenda for the lock-in is as follows:

9:00 a.m. Lock-in area opens

9:30 a.m. Technical briefing begins

10:30 a.m. Media availability

11:00 a.m. Official event begins

Members of the media may enter the lock-in any time after 9:00 a.m. Upon entering, however, a person must remain in the lock-in until the official event begins. Media representatives are reminded that wireless communications devices such as mobile phones and BlackBerrys, are not permitted in the lock-in area. Those in the lock-in will be required to disable built-in wireless devices on their portable computers.

Accreditation forms, available from the Communications Branch of Executive Council, must be completed and signed prior to entering the lock-in. Media representatives are requested to complete these forms and return them by 4:00 p.m. today (Wednesday, November 17). Further information can be obtained by contacting Doris Walsh at 729-3812.
