Media Advisory: Premier Williams Attending 34th Annual Conference
for the NEG/ECP in Lenox, Massachusetts

The Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will attend the 34th Annual Conference for the New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers (NEG/ECP) hosted by Governor Deval Patrick in Lenox, Massachusetts, from July 11 to 13.

Discussions during this year's conference will include topics such as regional approaches to promoting renewable energy, smart grid and emerging energy technologies, Canada-US relations, climate change and green jobs, as well as a number of other issues of regional importance.

NEG/ECP represents 11 jurisdictions, comprising the six New England Governors and the five Eastern Canadian Premiers.

Established in 1973, the conference advances the interests of the region through cooperation and encourages collaboration with the private sector. The NEG/ECP Conference has addressed a number of topics over the years including the environment, economic development, tourism, energy, fisheries, trade and agriculture.
