The Honourable Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland
and Labrador, will be joined by the Honourable Felix Collins, Minister
of Justice and Attorney General, and the Honourable Tom Marshall, MHA
for Humber East, at a ceremony to officially open the Corner Brook Law
Courts Monday, May 3, at 82 Mount Bernard Avenue.
During a ceremony beginning at 9:30 a.m. Premier
Williams will unveil a commemorative plaque in honour of the official
opening. As well, Premier Williams will provide remarks and officially
pass the key of the Corner Brook Law Courts to Chief Justice of
Newfoundland and Labrador Derek Green.
At 10:15 a.m. Premier Williams and Minister Collins
will address a ceremonial joint-sitting of the court presided by Chief
Justice Green, Chief Justice David Orsborn of the Supreme Court, Trial
Division, and Chief Judge Mark Pike of Provincial Court and attended by
Justice Thomas Cromwell of the Supreme Court of Canada.
