UNDERTAKING REJECTED:

George's Brook Residential Subdivision                                                              (Reg. 1498)Proponent: Manuel Ellis

This undertaking was rejected due to the following:

  • A Crown Land title (for application no. 135863) will not be issued for the proposed new subdivision and access road by the Lands Management Division, Department of Environment and Conservation. The department will not issue title for a subdivision and road in an unincorporated area which the Department of Transportation and Works have not committed to maintain responsibility for maintenance or snow clearing.
  • The Water Resources Management Division (WRMD) will not issue a permit for the extension to the existing water supply system proposed to service the subdivision as the system has poor water quality and is currently under a boil water advisory. Also, the system may not have adequate capacity to supply the additional quantity of water required for the new development. WRMD also advises against the proposed communal sewage system since there is no municipal authority to assume responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the system once the developer has completed the project.
