relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental
Protection Act.

Humber Village Snowmobile Trail
(Reg 1522)
Proponent: John Jenniex and Cecil Collins
The proponent intends to construct and develop a
snowmobile trail originating in the community of Humber Village, east of
the City of Corner Brook. The proposed trail will be approximately three
kilometres in length and will connect Humber Village with the existing
forest access road networks north of the community and thence to the
groomed trails managed by the Newfoundland and Labrador Snowmobile
Federation. Development is scheduled to start in early September 2010,
with completion by the end of November 2010.
The project was registered on July 13, 2010; public
comments are due by August 18, 2010; the minister's decision is due on
August 27, 2010.
Gambo Pond Cottage Development (Phase I)
(Reg 1521)
Proponent: Land Management Division, Dept. of Environment and
Conservation
The Gambo Pond Cottage Development Plan was recently approved to control
unplanned cottage development in this area. The Gambo Pond Cottage
Development Planning Area is located near the Trans Canada Highway,
adjacent to the Town of Gambo. Phase I of this project involves the
development of 12 new recreational cottage lots. Each unserviced lot
will be 0.4 hectares in area, totaling approximately 4.8 hectares for
the project as a whole. The lots are located approximately 8.5
kilometres from the Trans Canada Highway on Pond View Road. No new road
construction is necessary for this proposed development; however an
estimated 1.3 kilometres of existing road will be upgraded. There is no
time frame for cottage construction (will be the decision of individual
lot owners) If approved, road upgrading will begin in mid-August 2010 and
continue until mid-September 2010.
The project was registered on July 8, 2010; public
comments are due by August 18, 2010; the minister's decision is due on
August 22, 2010.
