Media Advisory: Minister Announces New Standards for MMSB's Green Depots

The Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of Environment and Conservation, will announce new licensing standards for the province's network of Green Depots during the official opening of a new Green Depot on Bell Island tomorrow (Wednesday, January 27).

The event will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the Bell Island Depot located at 148 Main Street. Minister Johnson will be joined by Multi-Materials Stewardship Board Chair and Chief Executive Officer Leigh Puddester, Wabana Mayor Gary Gosine, and Mary Noseworthy, owner/operator of the Bell Island Green Depot.

The new standards will strengthen and improve the Green Depot System, while enhancing the public's experience when using depots to recycle their used beverage containers.
