Media Advisory: Minister to See
Demonstration of
Marine Institute's Ocean Mapping Equipment
The Honourable Darin King, Minister of Education, will receive a
demonstration of new ocean mapping equipment at the Fisheries and Marine
Institute, Memorial University of Newfoundland, tomorrow (Wednesday,
October 13) at 10:00 a.m. Minister King will be joined by Dr. Gary
Kachanoski, President and Vice-Chancellor, Memorial University; Glenn
Blackwood, Executive Director, Marine Institute; and Randy Gillespie,
Head of Applied Research, School of Ocean Technology, Marine Institute.
The Provincial Government invested $2.4 million to purchase the
equipment and support ocean technology programs at the Marine Institute.
