Auditor General Releases his Annual Report to the House of Assembly
for the Year Ended 31 March 2009

John L. Noseworthy, CA, Auditor General, today presented his 2009 Annual Report to the Speaker of the House of Assembly.

The report contains approximately 600 pages and includes:

  • Commentary, recommendations and auditees' comments related to the review of Government departments and Crown agencies in the following areas:
    • Review of Overtime
    • Child Care Services
    • Protective Intervention Program for Children at Risk
    • Administration and Management of Crown Lands
    • Fisheries Technology and New Opportunities Program
    • Inspection and Monitoring of Radiation Equipment
    • Medical Equipment
    • Living Arrangements for Children and Youth
    • Monitoring of Regional Health Authorities
    • Newfoundland and Labrador Labour Relations Agency
    • Newfoundland and Labrador Immigrant Investor Fund
    • Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Gas Tax Fund
    • Disaster Financial Assistance Program
    • St. John's Arts and Culture Centre
    • Ferry Services
       
  • Comments on the audit of the Province's financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2009.

Mr. Noseworthy's Report is available on the Office of the Auditor General website at www.gov.nl.ca/ag/reports.htm.

As with prior reports to the House of Assembly, the Auditor General will be available to the media on an appointment basis.
