Improvement Momentum Continues
The Williams Government has issued another tender for
road work as it continues to roll out the 2009-10 Provincial Roads
Improvement Program, valued at $70.7 million.
Projects have been announced in the districts of
Conception Bay East-Bell Island and Cape St. Francis.
"Once again this year, our government is making
significant investments to ensure the province’s roads remain safe and
reliable," said the Honourable Trevor Taylor, Minister of Transportation
and Works. "That’s why as part of Budget 2009, we are committed to
investing over $300 million in transportation infrastructure."
In Conception Bay East-Bell Island, tenders have been
issued to upgrade and repave sections of Bennett’s Road, Beachy Cove
Road at Tucker’s Hill and Portugal Cove Road; and in the district of
Cape St. Francis the existing culverts at Coaker’s River on Old Marine
Drive will be replaced.
