Midget Basketball Teams
to Compete at Nationals in Kamloops
The Provincial Midget Boys and Girls
Basketball Programs will be leaving for Kamloops, B.C.,
this weekend to participate in the 2009 National U15
Championships slated for August 3-9. The boy�s team will
compete against Nova Scotia, Manitoba, British Columbia,
while the girls program will face Manitoba,
Saskatchewan, and British Columbia. Playoffs and placing
games will take place on August 7and 8.
Members of the boy�s team include:
Adam Burke, Tyler Butler, Nicholas Button, Tyler Evans,
Terry Griffin and Jacob Hynes of St. John�s; Adam
Keating and Joshua Nash of Mount Pearl; Mitchell Hearn
and Gary Neville of St. Mary�s; and Daniel Foo and
Benjamin Maynard of Corner Brook. Coaches for the
program are Erica Kennedy (Head Coach), Ian Coultas
(Assistant Coach), Yassir el-Tahan (Manager) and Chad
Langdon (Statistician) of St. John�s.
The roster for the girls team include:
Sydney Ezekiel, Samantha Sellars, Noelle Stanford and
Rosemary Stanoev of St. John�s; Tyler Hayes, Monica Lee,
Jessica Powell, Rebecca Ryan and Alexandra
Vaughan-Jackson of the Goulds; Brittney Hayden of Cape
Broyle; Kaitlyn Ryan of Trepassey; and Julia Walsh of
Mount Pearl. Coaches for the girls� program include
Darrell Ezekiel (Head Coach), Sara Hoyles (Assistant
Coach) of St. John�s, and Susan Hayes (Manager) of the
Goulds
