The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Provincial Basketball Championships

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association kicks off the season this weekend, February Feb 27-28, with 23 teams entering the provincial U11 Boys and Girls Provincial Championships.

St. Matthew�s Elementary in St. John�s will host the U11 A Boys event while the B division will be played at St. Bernard�s in Witless Bay. Goulds Elementary will host the U11 Girls A division while St. John Bosco of Shea Heights hosts the B championship.

Play gets underway on Friday afternoon and will conclude with the championship games Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon. For a complete list of all teams and schedules please visit the NLBA website at www.nlba.nf.ca or contact the provincial office at 576-0247.
