Olympic Air Rifle Marksmanship and Safety Clinic

The Newfoundland and Labrador Shooting Association is offering an Olympic and Three Position Air Rifle Marksmanship and Safety Clinic, January 9-11, 2009. This will be the first rifle clinic offered by instructors Gary Piercey and Dave Woolridge at in the Frank Zahn High Performance Marksmanship and CSCA Training Facility, Room PE 1002 on the lower level of the School of Human Kinetics and Recreation at Memorial University.

The clinic is open to any Canada Games age athletes born between December 31, 1991 and January 1, 1996. During this clinic, shooters will be taught safe gun handling with specific attention to the air rifle, and learn about the prone, standing and kneeling position of international rifle shooting. At the end of the clinic, participants will be able to shoot in an air rifle 3 X 20 competition. No prior experience is necessary.

Space is limited, so register early. Registration cut off is January 8, 2009.

The clinic fee of $65 includes 500 pellets, targets, appropriate equipment and a membership with the Canada Games Training Group until August 2009. Lunches will not provided on the 10th and 11th.
