Asked for Information in Moose Shooting
The Department of Natural
Resources is asking the public to provide information on
a moose shooting that occurred in a residential area in
the Town of Paradise on Wednesday, November 11.
Shortly before 9:30 a.m., the department responded to a
report of a moose shot in the town. The injured moose
ran into a backyard where it succumbed to its injuries.
Under the Wildlife Act, it is illegal to discharge a
firearm within 300 metres of a dwelling. The use of a
firearm in a residential area is a threat to public
safety.
The department is continuing to investigate the incident
and is seeking the assistance of the public. Anyone with
information is asked to contact the department at
