Media Advisory: Career Opportunities Explored at Women in Mining Forum

As part of Provincial Mining Week, a Women in Mining forum will be held on Monday, November 2, at the Johnson GEO CENTRE in St. John�s. The forum starts at 7:00 p.m. and admission is free. The forum is aimed at young women interested in careers in the mining industry and will feature a panel discussion and question and answer session with women currently employed with various mining companies.

The panelists include Lesley Joy, production engineer, Long Harbour processing plant, Vale Inco; Kim Rowsell, scoop operator, Duck Pond Operations, Teck Resources Limited; Jackie O�Driscoll, project geologist, Altius Minerals Corporation; Amy Copeland, geotechnical engineer, Stantec; Crystal Ball, senior buyer, Wabush Mines, and Michelle Manning, team leader, mine operations, Iron Ore Company of Canada.
