Media Advisory: Minister to Speak at Stephenville High School

The Honourable Shawn Skinner, Minister of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development, will launch the fifth edition of the Getting the Message Out (GMO) Classroom Kit and 2010 GMO Case Study Competition tomorrow (Tuesday, October 27) at 11 a.m. in Stephenville High School.

The GMO program highlights the stories of people in Newfoundland and Labrador whose ingenuity and determination turned their dreams of entrepreneurship into reality. It is shared with community organizations, educators, business people, and students throughout the province. Every presentation is customized to reflect regional differences and highlight the many sectors that are exploding with opportunity.

GMO also plays an active role in supporting youth innovation and entrepreneurship. A supplementary resource guide the GMO Classroom kit is produced for the high school economic education courses Enterprise 3205 and Career Development 2201. The guide features case studies of local businesses, showcasing the enterprising spirit in Newfoundland and Labrador.
