Media Advisory: Minister to Highlight Importance of New Internship Program

The Honourable Shawn Skinner, Minister of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development, will participate in an event tomorrow (Tuesday, February 17) at 11:00 a.m., marking the important role that ACCELERATE Newfoundland and Labrador has in growing research and development activity in the province.

Other speakers will include: Dr. Chris Loomis, VP Academic, pro tempore, Memorial University; Dr. Arvind Gupta, CEO & Scientific Director, MITACS Inc.; and David Murrin, Director of R&D Services, IMV Projects Atlantic.

The event will take place at IMV Projects Atlantic, which is located in suite 608A, Atlantic Place in St. John�s.

ACCELERATE Newfoundland and Labrador is a multi-disciplinary internship program that supports collaboration involving graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, supervising professors, and industry partners. During their internship, students undertake research projects on-site with partners using advanced research tools and techniques.
