Media Advisory: Parliamentary Secretary to
Attend Ministerial Conference on the Canadian Francophonie

Keith Hutchings, Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Susan Sullivan, Minister of Human Resources, Labour and Employment and Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs, will represent the minister at the Ministerial Conference on the Canadian Francophonie, which is taking place Wednesday, September 23, and Thursday, September 24, at the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Highlights of the two-day agenda include discussions around the promotion of the Canadian Francophonie and the growing contribution of the provinces and territories to the development of official language minority communities within the context of the 40th anniversary of the Official Languages Act.

The Ministerial Conference on the Canadian Francophonie promotes effective intergovernmental co-operation on issues related to Canada�s Francophone and Acadian communities for the benefit of these communities and all Canadians.
