Public Advisory: Service Disruption for NLPDP

The Department of Health and Community Services would like to advise individuals who receive benefits under the Newfoundland and Labrador Prescription Drug Program (NLPDP) of an unscheduled service disruption. An electrical problem has occurred, and as a result pharmacies will be unable to access the NLPDP online system. A manual system is in place to process billing information.

Residents who have a NLPDP drug card and require urgent prescriptions are advised to visit their regular pharmacy to have their prescriptions filled. Those who require non-urgent prescriptions are encouraged, if possible, to wait until the online system is back in operation. While it is unknown at this time how long it will take for regular services to be restored, work is ongoing to resolve the problem as soon as possible.

For further information, please contact the NLPDP office at 1-888-859-3535.
