The Department of Government Services is advising consumers of an important expanded product recall for Maytag refrigerators including those sold under brand names Magic Chef, Performa by Maytag, Crosley, Jenn-Air, Amana and Admiral. The recall includes both side-by-side and top freezer refrigerators.

The recall is due to an electrical failure in a component of the refrigerator which can cause overheating and may pose a fire hazard.
