The Honourable Paul Oram, Minister of Business, on
behalf of the Honourable Kevin O�Brien, Minister of Government Services,
will kick off North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week
by helping raise the NAOSH Week flag in front of Confederation Building
today, (Monday, May 4) at 12:00 noon. Minister Oram will be joined by
the Avalon Chapter of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineers along
with workers representing a variety of different sectors.
NAOSH Week is celebrated every year at the beginning
of May throughout Canada, the United States and Mexico. Its goal is to
raise awareness for the importance of preventing workplace accidents and
occupational illnesses.
