Charges Laid Against Labrador City Company

The Department of Government Services announced today that a Labrador City company has been charged with four violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations. The charges arose from an inspection which occurred at a workplace in Labrador City in December 2006 and are the result of an investigation by the Occupational Health and Safety Branch.

Carol Automobile Ltd. is alleged to have violated occupational health and safety legislation requiring both local ventilation and general ventilation at the site. The company has also been charged with non-compliance of an officers orders pertaining to the ventilation issues.

The first appearance for the company is scheduled for January 20, 2009, at Provincial Court in Wabush.
